Madeline Mapp is a school teacher doing an art class on macramé with twine. But her students are more interested in learning knots than macramé – or so they say. Reluctantly Madeline agrees to let them practice knot tying, which, of course, they do on her! Poor Madeline quickly finds herself tightly tied to her chair with many rolls of twine. She struggles and voices her displeasure, but things get even worse when the students find a roll of duct tape and use it to gag her!
